“We teach humans to speak dog” – Cory
We believe in Connection
Our journey of canine connection
After serving in the U.S. Army from 2012-2017 as a Military Police dog handler, Melaney learned how valuable a dog could be as a steadfast companion and wanted to help families experience the joy and companionship that dogs have to offer. Melaney started her own dog training company upon leaving the Army and never looked back.
The need was great for practical dog training geared to help busy families achieve the relationships they wanted with their dogs, and soon, Melaney needed to grow her team. In 2018 she met Cory, through her dog Harvey, and they quickly became friends and business partners.
Melaney’s background in training and working dogs in explosives and narcotics detection, aggression techniques used by law enforcement and offering support to other handlers deploying with their working dogs, combined with Cory’s background as a special education teacher specializing in behavior modification and communication and who worked with therapy dogs in her classroom, makes them a great team and uniquely positioned to help families live harmoniously with their dogs.

Leadership Based Training
Teaching dogs how to live in a human world means establishing a consistent routine along with clear rules and boundaries so they learn there is a time and place for everything. Dogs are creatures of habit and thrive on routine. If your dog knows what’s expected, they will have less decisions to make on their own and will relax knowing you’re in charge. As they look to us for permission and direction, they begin to trust our leadership and feel safe & secure in our care. Our calm, confident energy makes them calm and confident. Knowing your dog’s unique personality and loving them with leadership is how you have a dog that will follow you anywhere!
